About stomach flu – (you probably don’t get Corona from the tap)

The medical word for stomach flu is gastroenteritis.

Facts about gastroenteritis: “Viral gastroenteritis is an intestinal infection marked by watery diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea or vomiting, and sometimes fever.

The most common way to develop viral gastroenteritis — often called stomach flu —is through contact with an infected person or by ingesting contaminated food or water. If you’re otherwise healthy, you’ll likely recover without complications. But for infants, older adults and people with compromised immune systems, viral gastroenteritis can be deadly.

There’s no effective treatment for viral gastroenteritis, so prevention is key. In addition to avoiding food and water that may be contaminated, thorough and frequent hand-washings are your best defence.

Gastroenteritis occurs all over the world, affecting people of every age, race and background.”

Virus in the water we drink?

It has never been established in what proportions gastroenteritis is caused by direct contact, solid food or water. Some sources have claimed that as much as 50 % is from water. In any case protection from viral infections from water is important.

Virus do not survive for long by themselves but may enter a piped water system through suckback. -Therefore, they only occur from time to time. This fact makes them very hard to discover and diagnose. A common response is: “I must have eaten something!”

As laid out in the article from Waterline, March 5, 2020, Coronavirus and the water cycle, a modern piped water system, if well-tended, is a good barrier for virus, but whenever it fails, some virus may occasionally slip through.

A modern piped water system relies on killing the virus by disinfection as a last defence. The HVR system does not rely on disinfection. It is a barrier to all contamination, biological, chemical and metal. If any type of contaminant gets through, all types of contaminants will get through and the system is stopped instantly.

HVR technology makes new water on the molecular level. This water is completely free from other molecules. In  www.type1water.com  it is used for labs. In WaterApp it will be used for drinking water. Unless contaminated by handling afterwards here will be no virus in the treated water.
